8: Embrace your destiny

Embrace your destiny by stepping back into your calling.

When the season of a reputational attack is all but over and as the dust settles, I encourage you to dive back into your calling – your job, responsibilities, career, legacy, destiny and purpose.

Do it well and with integrity, having hopefully learned from your crisis and/or mistake.

And remember, while the media rarely forgets (and will regurgitate old news and may constantly reference any past mistakes), the public can be very forgiving of public figures who fall from grace yet acknowledge their mistakes and show tangible proof that they’re taking the steps to improve.

People will root for you, but only if you root for yourself.

In due time, if you give your audience, the public and the media positive, realistic, non-hyped and most importantly honest messages to work with, they’ll eventually forgive your missteps and celebrate your renewed sense of purpose.

“Destiny is not for comfort seekers. Destiny is for the daring and determined who are willing to endure some discomfort, delay gratification, and go where Destiny leads.” ― T.D. Jakes

Think on it.
