Sometimes when it comes to building the life, brand, business and purpose of our dreams, it can seem to take a millenia.
It might not be happening at all. Nobody’s answering your calls, no new business is coming in and your phone is sadly silent.
It’s what you do in the waiting that says a lot about you and your character. And it’s how you respond in that period of waiting that can either shape you for greater success or set you back even further on your journey.
I’ll give you an example.
I once watched two people I knew go through a period of waiting for their businesses to grow during the same time.
The two reacted totally different in that season.
One of them became obsessed with why things weren’t working out for them. She got lost in ‘why them and not me?’
She became envious of others who were prospering around her and she let that jealousy fester in her heart.
It led to her trying to pull others down with gossip and slander, which only led to her being isolated as people realised her motives and heart were not in the right place.
Needless to say, those she could have possibly had a business relationship with avoided her because unbeknownst to her she didn’t exude a positive mindset and they were unsure of her hidden motives.
She became even unhappier as she mired herself in her self-made desolation.
Conversely, my other friend was a bright light.
She truly exuded patience, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in all she said and did.
She was a delight to be around and carried herself with integrity.
Nothing left her lips, that was not good or kind.
It was inevitable then that she was soon being rewarded for her faithfulness in that season with multiple contracts and opportunities.
Insight Inspiration:
When it comes to the waiting time between starting out and success, or the searching season post success (when you’re trying to figure out the legacy you want to leave), you can choose to strive and wallow in bitterness.
Or you can choose to wait in faith.
The choice is yours.
Think on it.
